BARLEB Members in Lebanon headed by Mr. Antoine Tabbal ,Chairman of BARLEB, paid a visit to Mr. Fayez Rasamni , Minister of Public Work and Transport , Captain Mohamad Aziz and Dr. Jalal Haidar to offer the new year’s greetings , and to make acquaintance of the  civil aviation sector under their control and supervision.

Minister Rasamni welcomed all airline members and revealed his perspectives on the establishment of the General Authority of Civil Aviation as an independent body responsible for regulating

The Lebanese Sector in accordance with modern frameworks, aligned with international standards, and enhancing governance and transparency. H.E. pointed to the ongoing efforts to increase the capacity of Beirut airport, develop airport and stakeholders, and work on developing Rene Mouawad Airport by transforming it into an effective civilian facility that contributes to support the sector and expands air transport options.

The President of the General Authority of Civil Aviation Captain Mohamad Aziz and the Minister’s Advisor Dr. Jalal Haidar welcomed the presence and pointed at the necessity of dealing with airliners. As mentioned, the cooperation among them all facilitates the task imposed by the sector. Mr. Haidar presented an overview of the main measures and steps adopted to develop the civil aviation sector.

Mr. Antoine Tabbal conveyed the BARLEB appreciation and thanks to Minister Rasamni for the tireless efforts he is making to develop the airport and elevate the aviation sector in a way that positively reflects on air traffic and the level of services provided to passengers.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Minister Rassamni thanked the airlines for their growing confidence in Lebanon and their role in facilitating the return of Lebanese Expatriates and their visits to the country. He also extended special thanks to Middle East Airlines for the significant efforts exerted in serving and developing the Lebanese civil aviation sector.
